Tsukioka Yoshitoshi (Japanese, 1839-1892): three works comprising ‘Looks Heavy’, ‘Disagreeing’ and ‘Enjoying Herself’ from the series Thirty-Two Aspects of Customs and Manners of Women – ‘Fuzoku sanjuniso’ – woodblock prints, framed. Each signed Yoshitoshi ga and one seal in red.

Heavy: The appearance of a Fukagawa waitress in the Tempo era.

Disagreeable: The appearance of a young lady from Nagoya during the Ansei era.

Enjoying herself: The appearance of a teacher of the Kaei era.
